Honestly it’s kind of refreshing that meaningful numbers of people are finally acknowledging that this is just the vultures picking on the long dead corpse of the US instead of continuing to buy stupid shit, medicating, and otherwise playing pretend we were still a nation of laws and democratic representation.

Can we finally, finally destroy the capital markets that turned us into an oligarch exploitation camp for half a century and make something new with an avarice punishing framework in its place now? Why would Trump care if he wins?

As he has for most of his bankruptcy laden past, he’s largely playing with other people’s lives. He’ll be fine, and he enjoys inflicting cruelty on others for its own sake when he “loses.”

It’s a shame we don’t have a competent left in the US. This is an opportunity.

As Republican voters have been turned into easily deluded suckers unable to think critically or act in their own interests, now would be the perfect time to capitalize on that and turn them against the core rot of our society: unrestrained capitalism. That’s why we have Trump to begin with.

The capitalists defunded education for decades to cut their own taxes despite profiting from a literate workforce pool, and pushed profit friendly lies through for profit media and captured government pulpits. The capitalists made this drooling army of rage zombies that is the Republican base. They don’t know which way is up. They might not be doing it for the right reasons, but this is a magic moment where the monsters could be given a nudge to turn on their oligarch creators.

We need a new party and if that is impossible collapse or revolution and a new constitution, as this one is too far captured. The DNC at this point exists to take the oligarch bribes and stoke social issue division while defending the economy that bribes them and their partners accross the aisle from us. It cannot be reformed, because it’s primary function is bribe courting.

Harris was my last vote for an economic right wing candidate. I have very little confidence there will be another honest election, so why would I continue to vote for the fascist enablers as I have for 24 years? They march hand in hand with Republicans in for profit prisons, massive homeless populations that’s more expensive to maintain than simply housing the homeless without condition, mass murder for corporate private profit that make up entire economic sectors, etc.

And no, I sorry, I’m for respecting everyone’s rights and calling everyone what they want to be called out of basic respect, but millions of our neighbors dying in the streets for the crime of producing insufficient value for our oligarchs dwarfs a lot of social wedges neoliberals fight for but are ultimately not about meeting the basic needs people need. They make those their big issues because they don’t cost the capital markets a cent.

From a humanist perspective, it’s more important for a homeless person not to die of exposure, starvation, disease, and police brutality in our name than telling someone with a full belly and a roof who’s LGBTQ that we affirm who they are. Both are important, but even our “left” has been paying no attention to the former and all to the latter, because the former would cost their wealthy bribers money and talk and ribbons are cheap. Kids need lunch. Hungry anyone needs food. Priorities.

And no, we can’t do both, because we’ve proven we can’t do shit. Want less abortions? Riot for a living wage that can support a family and if you win there will be fewer abortions with no bans required. It’s the economy stupid, that thing we haven’t gotten a vote on in 46 years.

I’ll vote for a candidate promising to repurpose big corpo’s record profits to rebuild society, no less.

We haven’t had a vote on the shape or priorities of our economy since 1980. This is an economic dictatorship, and has been longer than most of us here have been alive.

And only IF addressing them won’t meaningfully harm quarterly earnings expectations for our sociopath class. Example: you know what would drastically reduce the number of abortions without any kind of ban? A living wage that can support a family. But that would cut into corporate metastasis and is therefore a non-starter by either party in anything more than rhetoric.

You can have scapegoating® or affirmation ribbons(D), so long as you vote for for profit prisons, legal murder for profit, millions of Americans dying of exposure on the streets, crumbling commons, public education in utter ruin… Freedom!

This constitution has failed. It failed decades ago, but few were willing to acknowledge the ugly truth. If you don’t accept that as a starting point if you’re American, you’re still digging.

It’s a fast track to power over others without having to first gain significant knowledge/wisdom to wield responsibly.

A surgeon is a allowed to cut you open and rearrange your insides because they have been through the intense trials and scrutiny to be trusted to do so.
