Interesting how the response in comments entirely depends on whose doing the torturing despite the fact that in both cases we’re still talking about the same group of civilians.
Independent thinker valuing discussions grounded in reason, not emotions.
Open to reconsider my views in light of good-faith counter-arguments but also willing to defend what’s right, even when it’s unpopular. My goal is to engage in dialogue that seeks truth rather than scoring points.

The front lines are not static so you can only imagine the difficulty SpaceX has trying to determine which terminal is in Ukranian use and which ones are Russian. For all we know, they may have disabled hundreds if not thousands of terminals they’ve found out to be used by the Russians and are getting no credit for it. I don’t buy into this narrative that Elon is personally invested into Russia winning. I’ve seen no evidence for it but plenty against it which everyone just seems to conveniently ignore because Musk bad.
I’ve found life to be slightly less stressfull when you stop worrying about this that you 1. can’t do anything about and 2. likely wont even happen.
The world was supposed to end in 2016 when he got elected and I bought into that. It didn’t. I’ll be a bit more sceptical this time around.
How dumb are you?
I could ask you the same thing for expecting me to answer to a question that ends like this. Now you just end on the blocklist with the rest of the incivil jerks.
Maybe lets wait for those tariffs to be actually imposed first before losing our minds over it.
He’s from South Africa. He can’t run for president.
It wasn’t enabled in Crimea in the first place. The author misspoke/lied about in the book and has later admitted it.
U.S. sanctions to Russia forbid the use of Starlink. This includes crimea and the occupied territories. That’s why it wasn’t enabled.
To clarify on the Starlink issue: the Ukrainians THOUGHT coverage was enabled all the way to Crimea, but it was not. They asked Musk to enable it for their drone sub attack on the Russian fleet. Musk did not enable it, because he thought, probably correctly, that would cause a major war.
And before someone points out the ‘cause major war’ things, those are Walters words, not Elon’s. Musk said “It would make SpaceX explicitly complicit in a marjor act of war and conflict escalation” He later also added that had he been contacted by the US officials and asked to enable it he would, but they didn’t.
Yeah, absolutely. All bets are off once you go from just thoughts to actions.
If I remember correctly, the strongest correlation with offending is proximity to children. So if someone has these tendencies and works in childcare, teaching, a church, or, in this case, as a ‘youth leader,’ then we’re on a bad path there…
Just a friendly reminder that pedophile is not synonymous with child molester. It’s a term describing sexual attraction, not behaviour, just like ‘heterosexual’ is. Simply being a heterosexual doesn’t make a man danger to women any more than being pedophile alone makes them danger to children. They have a sense of morality too.
The vast majority of people in prison for child abuse are not, in fact, pedophiles but just good-old rapists. Children unfortunelately simply are an easy target. The capability to rape a person - underage or not - generally requires some levels of narcissism, psychopathy and/or machiavellianism i.e. the ‘dark triad’ personality.
Their endgame is pretty much world outrage against Israel.
I think you meant to say Hamas, not Hezbollah. That’s the government of Gaza. Their endgame is not outrage against Israel. It’s no Israel. ‘From river to the sea.’
Quote from hadith that can be found in the article 7 of the 1988 Hamas charter:
The Day of Judgment will not come until Muslims fight the Jews, when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say, ‘O Muslim, O servant of God, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.’ Only the Gharkad tree would not do that, because it is one of the trees of the Jews.
Gonna be a tough pill to swallow for a lot of people if Trump and Elon actually do manage to end the war with reasonable terms.
Not saying I’m optimistic that this will happen but I guess you can’t really rule it out either. I have a feeling that Putin is pretty much done with this shitshow and would be willing to take an exit that’ll preserve even half of his face.

Can a malicious actor remotely do stuff with your thing you connected to the internet?
Yes.
Oh now I’m the enemy for daring to ask a difficult question to which you failed to give coherent answer to?
Life is not binary. This is not a yes or no question.
Allowing abortion at 8 months for other than medical reasons is just as insane policy as to not allow it at all.
But my question was about wether there was a consensus about where the line is drawn. This doesn’t really answer that.
Is there any consensus withing the ‘pro-choice’ people about where the line is drawn? I haven’t followed this debate much, but from my perspective it seems like people are just put into two groups as if the answer is either yes or no, but surely no-one is advocating for abortion rights at 8 months unless the mom’s life is on the line, right?
AI doesn’t copy pre-existing art. It’s influenced by it. Human artists take influence from prior artwork just as well as AI does. Nobody is creating art in a vacuum.
AI is not an artist any more than a paint brush is. Neither can generate anything on their own. They’re tools.
I don’t get how it is so hard for people to admit that some number of the “Pro Palestine” people are motivated by antisemitism just the same way Hamas is. Not everyone, but some, and the rest turn a blind eye to it.
