I hope she retires after suing Walmart for millions.
Caddyshack
Ted Knight really crushed this role
Agreed.
Fyi, it’s *whittling
Especially ironic in San Diego, where literally anywhere in the city is a mere 15 minute drive to the Mexican border.
San Diego is full of the wildly entitled and elderly though, so the self-selecting personalities can’t be a surprise for anyone who has lived there.
“but look how much technology you’ve gotten to see as it evolved every 3 years.”
Tech can fuck off. All these technological advances have served some Capitalist at the expense of imploding the middle class, or distracting the masses with some shiny bauble while shareholders extort more flesh each quarter.
If tech advances don’t create a rising tide, they’re just a tool for exploitation.
Take it over? From the people who control the entirety of every process and have a finger on every level?
Your optimism is not matched by an understanding of how things actually work. The Democratic party is private; it’s essentially a club. Which means that the party dictates which funding goes to whom, and which candidates are allowed to campaign for specific posts. It’s the opposite of democracy.
When AOC started making waves, Pelosi, that fucking corrupt dinosaur, pulled her aside and read her the riot act- quintessentially reminding any further progressives that the OLD GUARD neoliberals are in charge, as they have been for the last 30 years. Which is why the Dems have been floundering and failing, by design, for 30+ years.
The only way forward for the party as it stands is to purge the entirety of elderly power-clutching corporate boot throaters. Otherwise they’ll strangle any rising progressive stars before they can walk, let alone run.
How much I gotta pay?
“We are the first to do this.” -every young cohort going back through time
I spent the last few years building up an immunity to nachos and bacon powder.
Is this the famously “free market competition” before which we’re all expected to bend the knee?
Clowns in a clownshow.
So they’re saying God is either impotent, or callously cruel? Yeah, definitely dedicate your life to worshipping that. Brilliant logic.
Just another thing Boomers ruined by participating with absolute confidence in their ignorance.
Schumer and his ilk should be run out of town on a rail.
They’re too old, too milquetoast, and too entrenched in the status quo to be effective to today’s needs.
Their time is up, hook’m off the stage.

My mom worked at Sizzlers in the early 90s when she and her husband, a no-degree “engineer” were able to buy a 4 bedroom house with a huge yard and 2 car garage in the DC suburbs (MD side), with two cars. A few years later, they upgraded to an even bigger house in an even nicer part of the county.
Objectively poor people had houses that they owned, in places people wanted to live. None of that has been possible for at least a decade or more. Millennials are now in our 40s and have more education and experience than Boomers ever did, yet the ROI and QOL differentials are staggering.
Don’t let Boomers gaslight you; they collectively played this game on the easiest mode.
Of course. American prosperity fell off a cliff around 1980, so the last 40 years or so have just been inertia and grinding the middle class into dust.
Which is roughly where we are now.
Boomers lived their entire lives failing upwards. Why wouldn’t they expect things to just go their way?
