Not sure how that’s a gotcha, sure, a court, has the same weight either way
If a court decides to interpret a law some way or another, it’s because the law’s wording allowed for some leeway.
That’s on the lawmakers.
Right to healthcare or the right of privacy in healthcare?
The law on the ban for youth care was challenged in court, the courts decided the law is not against the constitution, and so it can take effect.
You’re making massive leaps
Does the constitution say that though?
Because laws tell them what to decide. The courts are there to make sure the laws don’t infringe on constitutional rights, on federal laws etc., but they don’t create rules.
Yes, they interpret what the lawmakers have written. If lawmakers made a law saying minors shouldn’t receive healthcare, that’s what the court should say.
Not taking sides btw, if I was I’d just get mad at the state of US politics
Thank the lawmakers, the court probably didn’t have a choice
Every single post in this comment section is proof people don’t learn.
Corporations never do something on a whim. A drastic change like this studied, in detail, by experts, who determine the possible PR impact, possible revenue increases etc.
Netflix is a great example. Everyone and their mom was saying how they’d lose money during the password sharing crackdown. Yet somehow they had a massive increase in subscriptions that quarter.
Honestly, if you have the option, it’s a pretty simple choice - put it into a charity you know will help people or overpay taxes and watch the money be guzzled by the military.
Haha now it’s clear you’re just trolling.
Have a nice day
You’re still dodging the real point.
Child support != money given to the child.
You have no idea what he’s giving to the child directly, yet you keep complaining about not giving obscure amounts of money to the child’s mother, by clothing it up as “daddy doesn’t care about the child”.
Depends entirely on the circumstances.
Did I have a nice childhood? Did I get to go to all the clubs I wanted to go to? Did I get the education I wanted?
In my opinion, having too much money is harmful for a child, best to keep it in a fund for college / a downpayment.
3k a month is enough.
Again, the kid’s gonna have enough support to have a comfortable childhood, much more than the average child probably.
This money is going to the mom, Musk might not want that, and I honestly think that the majority people would feel the same way in his place.
Don’t get me wrong, Musk is a dumbass, but people around here get blinded by emotions and hatred towards him and don’t even try to think about the situation at all.
He wouldn’t be paying it to his kids though, but their mom.
$3k in child support is more than most get, who said he hasn’t set up a trust fund for the kid when it grows up / isn’t giving it stocks / inheritance?
Of course it’s a choice, it’s a settlement. They could’ve refused and gone to court, where they probably would’ve ended up paying a lot more in fines (and legal fees)
