  • Lol absolutely no way you don’t know you got the norovirus. Death might seem like a viable option when it’s at it’s worst, it’s horrible. Even if mild there’s no way you don’t know you’re cramping so bad you shit yourself. A sensory deprivation tank doesn’t make you unaware of your own body, in fact it can cause hyperawareness because it’s all you’ve got.

    But whatever. Good internet story.

  • When the economy rebounded?

For who did the economy rebound?

Re-do the study and check it against people’s disposable income levels. I’d be willing to bet the “birth bracket” moved to a higher income level thanks to inflation, housing, and food costs among others. Not the smart phone’s fault, it’s an economic problem. The study looked at poverty rates, but government defined poverty rates aren’t the same as the economic hopelessness felt by many even in the middle class.

  • Target doesn’t allow any of that in the stores, so no they can’t do that anymore than someone could light up a cigarette.

That said, millennials didn’t just disappear when pot became legal. They can vape, smoke, dab, or whatever the heck they want right alongside everyone else.

The important thing is that pre-Z gens can appreciate the improvements, whereas Z and after just take it for granted.

  • THAT’S THE CORRECT WAY.

Merge at the lane end for fuck’s sake.

Everyone that merges early creates a spot for the closing lane traffic to move up and slows down the through lane, then the next person does it, slows the thru lane, repeat ad nauseam. So if you think you’re being smart merging early you are actually fucking up the flow. There are always people going to be running up the closed lane to try to take “cuts”, so how do you prevent that? By everyone zipper merging at the end! No open lane for them to “cheat.”

Zipper merge at the end is the only way.

Source: I see this every single day I drive to work in an area with shit road design, heavy traffic, and bad drivers.

  • As an older person looking at what should be retirement visible on the horizon…it’s still not enough at this end either.

    And it’s not just inflation.

It’s capitalism extracting more and more at every opportunity. Fees, more fees, convenience fees, tips, unbundling, increasing subscriptions, tiered subscriptions, artificial scarcity, scalping, effective monopolies, private equity squatting on real estate, health care costs, energy costs…the list of expenses eating away at what should be retirement means you probably want to have a job of some kind just to have a health care plan or something. And for younger people it means never getting ahead at all.

Enshittification of capitalism means companies no longer come up with new products and technologies to drive business, it just means they figure out new ways to exploit customers and employees to drive profits.

  • While not everyone should have kids and I fully support people choosing not to have any…

You can have this and have kids. Just not every day. Unless you’re stupid wealthy and have a nanny or something.

But maybe I’m weird and am one of the few that actually like my kids and having them around. Sure, they can be a pain in the ass sometimes, but not so much that I want to escape them or anything.
