The kids are innocent in this and I don’t see why feeling bad for them is incompatible with being ok with their father’s death.

There are two options imho:

• They’re so far up in their own media bubble that they don’t believe it’s true.
• They don’t care about it. Or at least not enough compared to the advantages of having said person in positions of power.
