  • Many years ago my kids pediatrician recommended feeding the kids kale smoothies. I didn’t have any Kale at home so I cooked bunch of broccoli to mush and mixed it with bananas. Those kids eat half a pound of broccoli for breakfast just about every day now. They also eat it raw or crunchy cooked. Definitely the best medical advice I’ve ever gotten and the kids are used to a very simple and quick to make breakfast that keeps them full for hours.

    Tldr: Kids constantly surprise me and sometimes they like vegetables.






  • I used to love big arena shows until I saw a famous band do a three night stand at a small bar/club style venue. After that, I started going to shows of bands/performers I hadn’t heard of. Changing how I thought of shows, where before I thought of it as an event like going to see a theatre play, to thinking about them similarly to how I’d think of going to the movie theater made the whole live scene seem more accessible and more fun. I hope when my kids are older we can start going to more shows again.

    I read an article that said being in a band is less appealing to kids these days and that being an influencer is more popular than wanting to be a Rockstar. I hope it’s just “old man yells at clouds” because I feel like there is always room for more local acts. Support your neighbors, go dance!











  • His show had an episode with a mom trying to drink like her college daughter. The mom starts going out most nights, eating like shit and feeling bad during the day. The part that has stayed with me for almost 20 years is how the mom was definitely having a good time towards the middle of the month. When I first saw it I was a little younger than the daughter and now I am a little younger than the mom was at filming. When I question if I should start drinking more again, I think of that lady and say “Maybe.”
