  • Ok. What part of that conflicts with what I said?

If he cheated on taxes, then fuck him. But I think it’s generally assumed that these fucks all cheat on their taxes. So if you’re going to go after one, then go after all of them.

And again, he’s not actually a politician, and was only targeted because of who his dad is. If you don’t see that as abuse of authority as revenge against his dad, then there’s no point in talking to you.

Also, if you read the fucking article yourself, it never goes into details on the tax charges.

  • A lot of people here missing the point. We don’t care about this because Hunter was the target of a witch hunt. The actual “crimes” weren’t impactful at all. The Republicans literally spent 8 years dragging him through the mud, digging for anything that he could be charged with, just because who his dad is. And Hunter didn’t even touch politics in the slightest.

The gun charge is the moral equivalent of crucifying someone for having pirated music on their hard drive. It was a nothing crime, never enforced, and the only reason it was in this case was because they happened to find something they could latch onto.

I don’t know anything about the tax evasion conviction. If it was serious, then sure, fuck him. But I’d want them going after every politician AND their family with equal vigor. But guess what? They aren’t.

That’s why most of us don’t really care. The man is not important. He holds no position of power, nor has he expressed any intent to. He is not important, except as a whipping boy for their propaganda. And a pardon for such preposterous prosecution is fine with me.

  • Obviously, this statement was not targeting you specifically. “You” is targeted towards Trump voters and non-voters.

We knew what was on the ballot. I don’t care that the DNC could have done better. When the choice is “meh” vs literal Nazis, you’re a damn nazi if you didn’t vote directly against them.

I’m fucking done mincing words after voters gave them the House, Senate, POTUS, and all the god damn courts.

  • Trump also said he’d aggressively deport and sort through the mistakes later. He’s going to deport legal immigrants too, and I very much doubt they’ll let them back in without an extensive legal battle. Which will never move forward because he’ll intentionally starve the court system (like congress already did at his order) so that realistically, they will never get through the system.

Great fucking job giving Nazis free reign, you stupid, stupid, evil fuckers. You had a choice to fight nazis when it was easy. Just a vote. But you chose nazis, one way or another.

  • I don’t think he’s stupid enough not to know what those numbers mean. The crowds he hangs out with, there is zero doubt he has seen those tattoos on more than a few faces in the MAGA crowds.

I don’t necessarily think he was even aware of the price tag, or thought about a proposed sale enough to notice. I think the chances this was one of his nazi employees is higher than him setting his own sales price himself.

He doesn’t seem to be coherent enough to be running day to day things like that, when his focus is getting in front of any camera willing to record him.

  • It’s easy to rage against the machine on a moral pedestal. It’s harder to actually steer the machine in the right direction.

To be clear, I am supportive of putting things to a vote even if there’s no chance it succeeds. Get the votes on record. I think that’s an important archive that can be used later in election season to hold politicians accountable for their votes.

I like what Bernie and AOC are doing when they push for these kinds of votes.

But make no mistake. They can only do this from a position of being unable to effect any change. Under normal conditions, moves like this poison the well and make others on both sides less willing to work with you.

They have the luxury of grandstanding specifically because they have zero hope of garnering support.

Someone like a president can’t really do something like this without completely burning their political capital.
