We won’t have to walk to work. We’ll live in little huts on the plantation where we work off our debts.
I will accept no less than 99.99% of his net worth.
SO SAY WE ALL!
Awesome! I’ll take a look there.
That Oaxaca cheese knot sounds amazing! Anyone know if Sam’s has something similar? We don’t have a CostCo near me.
Huzzah! I’m not stingy with the cheese, btw. Havarti plain, with dill, and with jalapenos for everyone!
What’s wrong with a cart full of cheese? I haven’t bulk bought cheese in my adult life, but I have bought several bars and several bags of shredded cheese at the same time. I’d do it again, too!
He’s the vomit that shit vomits when it smells itself.
Honestly, I don’t even feel it’s that bad to do. Is it a naturally occurring pile, no, but unless he’s taking perfectly good stuff from unscathed buildings, it’s still hurricane debris. The only problem in my eyes is that the effort spent piling debris could have been used to actually restore the location. So, I’m with the folks who say he should have found a place they were already piling stuff as part of the cleanup mission.
To those who disagree with the above:
Except not all the idiots lived in the path of Milton, or even where hurricanes go at all. I can’t explain why the presence of hurricanes has become yet another idiotic political issue, but the MAGA morons are latching on to it.
This is consistent with my observation of the events. One additional point, the judge presumed that she would be out before the end of the 9 years because of good behavior.
Precisely. Imagine someone doing something to you that you do not want, something that takes away your sense of autonomy, something that humiliates you. You know if you say something, some people will accuse YOU of doing something wrong, instead of your attacker. Now imagine that person has tons of money, and through that money tons of power. You know if you say anything about being attacked, it could hurt that person, and that person will use their money and power to make your life harder. You also know that even if everything goes best case scenario, it will be terribly hard, humiliating, and your personal life (and maybe some of your own behavior) will be out there for everyone to see. Then, think of all the ways it could be a worse outcome. I don’t fault anyone for not coming forward. If I were a target for this behavior, I’d like to think that I would fight, but who knows what I would actually do. I hope I never have to find out.
Yes, or embrace being a basement dweller. Or even not care if he called them that because they “are still better than whatever Democrats are.”
Yes, Daniel Shaver. It was horrible to watch. I hadn’t heard about the medical retirement or pension. I generally don’t advocate for violence, but if he came to a violent end, I would not shed any tears.
I’m with you. I watched the video of the man who was trying to comply with orders from the police and the officer warned him if he did anything other than what he was being ordered, he would be shot. Then, he was given confusing orders, and was shot when he did the wrong thing. He was on his knees with his hands in plain view when the threat came. There were multiple officers with weapons drawn. The man was sobbing and begging before he was shot. I can’t unsee it. I think it’s important that people see it so others can be held accountable, but not EVERYONE has to see it.
Edit: Nevermind. Glad, in this case, I was partially uninformed. A conviction was overturned, but he was still convicted in a second state.
To add to this, a lot of people don’t see individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) as people. To them, they’re something else.
A person with IDD has all the same rights, including voting, as any other person. To reinforce that, many (or maybe all) states have their rights specifically codified (e.g., Florida Statute 393.13). To remove those rights, it requires a court order, just like it does for you and me.
In Florida, the supports for individuals with IDD promotes and assists them with the voting process, especially with getting to the polls to cast their votes!
This is why calling them weird was sort of effective. It’s not a fact, it’s an opinion. Now, I think it’s a widely held opinion, but the point is it wasn’t something they could argue with. It was sort of playing the game they’ve been playing.
