The new initiative gives the Department of Justice authority to appoint VA lawyers as special assistant U.S. attorneys, which allows the lawyers to initiate and participate in state court guardianship or conservatorship proceedings, according to a press release issued Wednesday.
With what staff? all those extra VA staff members and DOJ attorneys that are just lining up for more work?
I could absolutely see this administration using this as a tool to (ineffectively?) punish outspoken non-homeless veterans with “Trump derangement syndrome”. The administration did just try (and fail) to take Mark Kelly’s military retirement pay because of his speech.

I recall 8chan at the time getting really pumped about uncovering pedophile conspiracies up until they found a google drive folder filled with raw child testimony videos for CSAM and general child abuse. 8chan had uncovered some Salt Lake City social services/child protective services program and basically doxxed them. They quickly ran out of steam after that.
I think this has mostly been memoryholed so I can’t find any specific articles about it. The Vice article focuses mostly on Reddit’s involvement.

The agreement contains a “minibus” — three full-year appropriations bills that will fund certain departments like Agriculture through the end of the fiscal year next fall — and a continuing resolution to fund the rest of the government at existing spending levels through Jan. 30.
Cool. So those departments are going away next year.
