Hey, I resent that comment!
Wait, not resent. Resemble.

News@lemmy.world•‘We need to do our due diligence’: Harlingen [Texas] approves 120-day data center moratorium
51·16 days agoThis just became the first city in Texas to block a major data center. It would have brought billions of dollars into the small city, but used 4.6 million gallons or water and sewer daily.
The city’s leaders recognized the long term dangers and blocked it.
Clearly AI - in reality, it would require 100s of pounds of force to remove a finger like this.

News@lemmy.world•Violent crime rates plunge in America's big cities
41·30 days agoTwo things. First, it lists the overall averages in the portion of the article posted. Second, it is important to reinforce the narrative around specific cities; Trump has repeatedly claimed that some of the cities on this list have “out of control crime,” and threatened federal intervention.

News@lemmy.world•Persian Americans in Los Angeles celebrate regime change in Iran
2·3 months agoHey it’s a tough world out there. It’s getting harder and harder to identify fake images, which is why I wanted to explain some of the telltale signs that it is real.
I also have a number of friends who are very outspoken in the Iranian-American community. There are a lot of bad actors out there who are trying to discredit their entire movement because Trump happens to be president. Who else are they supposed to appeal to for an international intervention? They just want to rescue their families.

News@lemmy.world•Iran warns people who dare defy internet blackout
12·3 months agoIf there is a long US war or occupation, that would surely be a disaster for the Iranian people. But Iran already has many of the core mechanisms of democratic government. It’s not Afghanistan, it’s not even Iraq.
People vote for leadership. There has just been the “revolutionary” guard that operates the shadow government with the real power. The religious fundamentalist government has had the right to choose the candidates, but people really do vote from among those choices.
If the people can succeed in transferring military power to the elected government, then there is a real chance for permanent and stable change. The people are educated, the economy is sophisticated and diverse, and there are functioning institutions.

News@lemmy.world•Persian Americans in Los Angeles celebrate regime change in Iran
1·3 months agoI’m sorry, but you’ve lost the plot. This does not look at ALL like AI upsizing. There is no AI noise, faces are intelligible. Hands have the right number of fingers, and are attached to people. There is no AI noise. The stars are the correct number and in the correct arrangement (see overlay below). People have a range of expressions. The framing is natural.
Additionally, it is published and credited in a major news source with long-established editorial oversight.
