I’m queer and in the queer community—far right gay men are not a part of our community and do not direct it. If they’re “increasingly loud” then they must be over on fox news because they aren’t part of the LGBTQ community, so I literally never hear them.

I think what helps “sow division”’is mainstream news outlets giving voice to a teeny tiny minority of self-hating gay men who represent exactly nobody but their pathetic selves. The LGBTQ community remains united.

Just because trump’s regime has traction in convincing the business world to embrace homophobia (ie, getting rid of pride) doesn’t mean the actual LGBTQ community isn’t locked in—we are. We know what’s coming, and we’re ready to fight like we ALWAYS have been.

Reuters, AP, NPR and all the other formerly credible news outlets went right starting last year and have continued to sanewash and mischaracterize trump’s actions. These news outlets aren’t grasping the harm they’re doing. I thought doing shit like cancelling my NPR membership might prove a point to them that now is not the time to buckle—we need truthful news. They’re too busy worried about engagement and their own careers to do the right thing. Journalism is dead, died this year officially.
