I do like some intellectual stimulation and will hold contrarian views just to test the waters of my own understanding or to test yours. I don’t always believe the things I say online. I want you, AND me to understand the world around us better.

  • That’s because out of everything, we’re kind of creatures of conformation. Every nail that sticks out gets hammered down. It’s a part of our biology at this point, given how tribal in nature we have become. Success came from everyone working together, and when something goes against the status-quo, it’s normal for people to shun it. You’ll find this in literally every possible ‘division’ you can create for society. Dyed your hair blue? Some people’s instinct will naturally kick in and shun you for it. You don’t even have to be gay or anything - just out of the ordinary.

They were test to assure safety of human life, and women couldn’t pass them. So they lowered them. The biggest one was being able to carry a person of a specific mass out of an area within a specific amount of time, with all your gear on, in a smoke filled room. Few men were able to pass it, and almost no women. So they lowered the amount of weight and upped the time limit. Sometimes even just flubbed the women passing so they could reach diversity goals.

People will die because of it, but hey…women firefighters! WOO HOO!

Now the thing that’s really sexist, is denying sexual dimorphism exists within the human species and that men --in general-- can be better suited among the general populace for specific tasks when it comes to simple brute strength.

I pirate because I was taught to pirate from a young age. My dad brought home a copy of DOOM from his friend, my aunt rented VHS’s from Blockbuster and copied TF out of them and let friends borrow them. Every Windows OS I’ve installed we’ve reused CD keys. And now, I download movies/tv shows for my kids to watch so they aren’t inundated with ads. But…I buy the things that are worth it. I’ve bought my kids all the Five-Nights games because they enjoyed them. My steam library is FILLED with humble-bundles from Indy artists and games that were lovingly made by their creators like BG3, Enshrouded, Nightingale, etc. But I also have a Nintendo switch that’s cracked WIIIIDE open because fuck Nintendo. Also fuck Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft, Activision (RIP Blizzard), Apple, and I’m sure I’ll come up with more later. Oh yeah, and FUCK NESTLE.
