My town had a “Video Tonight” and we were allowed one rental per week, leading to the following regular exchange:

“Want to go to Video Tonight?”

“No, I’d rather wait until tomorrow.”

My mom lived in Greece long before I was born. Her residence had an outdoor bathroom system. Apparently, when my mom was pregnant with my eldest sister, she once had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. She got up to go out, reached for the doorknob, then had a burst of intuition. She got a light source to find her way out, only to find a giant scorpion standing right on the doorknob where her hand would have landed.

One of the more delicious easy homemade meals I can recall was pasta and peas with a poached egg on top.
