tl;dr this guy did a horrible thing, but based on the number of brain injuries you can read about him suffering over the course of his lifetime I really doubt he was legally competent, and either way I think the death penalty is dumb and does as much to retraumatize victims as offer closure

Either way, please wear a helmet when riding motorcycles and yell at your lawmakers to make sure neonatal units have the best possible resources to maybe prevent people like Wendell Grissom from going so far off the rails
