I, personally, am a big fan of brevity. Fort Liberty: Short. Sweet. To the point. 🙂
There is no reason why we couldn’t do both! Commission a big plaque, a statue/picture, write it up on the website – Fort Liberty honors Shugart & Gordon, two Delta Force operators who gave their lives trying to protect a downed Blackhawk pilot in Mogadishu. Just bake it in, tasteful AF.
I just really don’t like things that get in the way of primary purpose, or title. For example, I type airport into Google. One of the results, do you mean the General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport?? The honorary title, it’s longer than the place. Oh, and that airport is on Everett McKinley Dirksen Parkway, and god help you if you misspell that name, because Google won’t if you’re off by one letter.
Honor all the people you want, as much as you want, with all the weird names you want. Write a whole damn book. Just do it in the credits, not the goddamn title. There’s a proper place for everything.
*** On second thought & reading your comments…I do very much like, and appreciate, the sentiment of naming bases directly after honorable people. And it’s probably far less consequential to have an odd and/or long name assigned to a military base than it is a road or public transit. Now if you’ll excuse me. I need to go to the General Wayne A. Rumble/Locals is a video sharing platform, like YouTube, and you don’t have any of the ridiculous no-no words & censorship of YouTube to abide by (under threat of age-gating, deletion, demonetization). You can say words like: suicide, depression, covid, vaccine, Hitler, porn, pedophile, etc etc etc without people getting all weird.
You can stream copyrighted content & watch a movie together, as long as there’s some banter & you’re not straight ripping movies. It’s fun, it’s like watching with friends.
Each creator can enforce THEIR OWN censorship & values on their community as they see fit, the only thing(s) Rumble/Locals does not want to see are: porn, child porn, and idk probably like extreme gore.

The razors are actually pretty good. They’re solidly on-par with comparable brands. All designs should be ergonomic, human friendly.

FTR, IIRC he did not try & he actively went around some (stupid) people that got in the way of the killdozer. He wanted to level buildings, property of all the people that he felt “wronged him”. He was stopped only when the killdozer fell into a basement, foundation & he was embarrassingly stuck like a Roomba. He then took his own life, with the gun that had precisely 1 bullet in it.
Now I don’t like this man being made out to be some kind of hero; this, too, is inaccurate. Truth is, he was a shitty businessman who was offered a lot of money to evacuate his property, make room for another development, which he accepted. And then changed his mind like a little bitch. Then he tried to get more money & was denied. Then he was railroaded via eminent domain because of course, he fucked himself & now had this property with much lower value & idk no good entryway or something (JFGI). Then he liquidated all his earthly possessions & built this killdozer…again, because he was a butthurt, greedy little bitch that went back on his word & rejected good offers…to destroy properties. But not kill people.
All emotions, big on rhetoric, not so good on repurcussions & consequences for actions.
However. I don’t see much really coming from this, just a galvanized Trump base. Maybe some switcjes in the middle. And I wouldn’t be shocked if there’s a false flag, “Oooo, LOOK, now we’ve found a conservative that wants to kill Biden! Both sides!”

And even if that were true, or more likely he was a racist dickhead, either way: if he had such a big problem, if he wanted to protest…you don’t have to publicly cross the stage at graduation. Not that he’s smart enough to reason this out. But crossing the stage is a privilege, it is public recognition, it is a community event. The graduate need not be compelled to participate; she could have received her diploma in the mail (like most do, anyway) & stayed home.
Although judging by the girl’s reaction, her father was acting off-the-cuff, alone, and without her knowledge. I’m hoping that’s the case. Racism is fucking stupid.

Biden, meanwhile, for better or worse is exactly the same now as he was four years ago.
🤡 He wasn’t good in 2020, and he’s even worse now. This is only the hottest, most recent takes based off recent events, but we know there’s a long record of humiliation & weakness on the world stage. Mexico border: fucked. USA fentanyl crisis: fucked. Afghanistan: fucked. Israel-Palestine: fucked. Russia-Ukraine: fucked. China: getting on their bullshit. The global hegemon is weak; the world suffers as a consequence.
Until the last couple months of panic mode, I have seen an entirely unfounded, unflappable confidence being displayed by Democrats, media. There is not a single damn thing about Biden that instills confidence. Trump isn’t silenced, Trump isn’t jailed, everything tried has failed. Which leads me to believe…we’re going to see at least an attempted Trump assassination.
Biden should be shuffled off into the nearest nursing home & replaced with a competent Democrat. It looks like that’s not going to happen. Idk, this next half-year is going to be mighty interesting, to say the least. 🍿😃🍿
