Ugh, one of my right wing Farcebook “friends” recently made a simpleton comment about paying back student loans, and I couldn’t resist saying “why stop at college? Defund public schools, if little Timmy can’t afford it, send him to the mines” and of course he agreed, the irony was completely lost on him. No, his kids do not go to private school.

It’s funny, because I didn’t consciously intend to hang up on her, it was very much a reflexive action. But moments later I realized I had missed the perfect opportunity to say “I’d like to see you try”
My first call center job, my first year, someone threatened to kill me. 23 years ago, I still remember it. I answered the call, didn’t even get the first word of my greeting out, and this woman was screaming, “don’t hang up on me, you better not hang up on me, the last three people hung up on me, if you hang up on me I will come through the phone and KILL YOU!”
I hung up on her.
I don’t think he will, because it wouldn’t gain him anything, they’re already forgotten. And yet there will be plenty more to take their place…

Until cops prove themselves trustworthy, I will assume they’re lying. They have a long way to go.
But it’s obviously not the making up stories part that’s bad, who the stories get made up about is far more important.
