That’s smart! Take advantage of the fact that cable keeps getting more and more expensive and urge them to cancel it. No need to sneak and block Fox News this way.

I’d never get on a Tesla robo Taxi. I don’t want my money going to a neo-Nazi supporting CEO and de-facto president of the US.
You can play an active role in helping your favorite creators move to Bluesky. Leave a comment on their posts and send DMs urging them to stop using Twitter. Urge other people to do likewise.
Let’s work together and make it happen for real. I’ve worked on some ideas on what we can do to stop Musk’s radical agenda: https://lemm.ee/post/49991492
Basically get people off of Twitter to cut off the propaganda machine and then boycott his products, get advertisers to stop advertising on Twitter and encourage the workers in his companies to strike/quit.
Better do something than do nothing.
it’s important to redirect negative thoughts and feelings, but you have to do this without jumping to condescending or infantilising language.
So much this! I used to be a Trump supporter myself and I’ve made some people angry because of my previous political views. I got yelled at for what I said. Even though in hindsight their reaction was somewhat justified all that did was reinforce my views and dig a deeper hole.
I researched this exact question. There is a way called deep canvasing https://www.vice.com/en/article/how-to-change-a-voters-mind-is-deep-canvassing/
It’s scientifically proven. Try having a one on one conversation with someone. Listen to what they say and respond with empathy. Then gradually and calmly introduce your message that is related to what they said. For example if the person you are talking to said they are worried about grocery prices and specifically egg prices you could mention that bird flu was the root cause of the price increase and that Trump’s tariffs will raise prices on groceries. Building trust helps your message get across. I’ve had personal conversations with Trump supporters who trust me and you’d be surprised how much success you can have.
I’m still shocked by the number of gay, black, latino and women votes Trump got this election. I wish they would realize that racism, sexism and homophobia are what drives Trump’s most loyal and core supporters.
Group think and tribalism is very powerful. I used to be a Trump supporter and I remember thinking about how women were more likely to vote for progressive candidates with the conclusion that perhaps they shouldn’t be doing that. I now very deeply regret being part of that and I’m so grateful I broke free of all that nonsense. Monkey see, monkey do is very true. That’s why it’s important that our leaders demonstrate good behavior and set a good example for everyone.
You must have a “local” Sinclair-owned station I’m guessing.
