It’s always more complicated than the binary. Disney might be getting DEI but still forces creators to censor out any LGBT references in their shows, or cancel them if they do them anyway. They still are anti union and work people to the bone.
If you want it simple, no corporation is your friend, ever. They are there simply to take your money, without regard for scruples, and any form of morality they seem to be acting on is either because it will make them more money or it is illegal and not cost effective to break the law.
It’s still a good sign the shareholders have some sense in this specific case, but make no mistake, Disney doesn’t care about anything other than money.

Because we are powerless to change it.
The corporations have lobbied (bribed) both political parties so hard that both sides work for them.
Any attempt to change the voting system gets shot down because the people in power don’t want to change the system, because it benefits them. Why make the game fair when it’s rigged in your favor?
Half the country is brainwashed into thinking any social help or reform is socialism (which is pure evil! Helping others is evil!) and a trick from the inept party to try to gain political influence. And the inept party just fails to deliver on any sort of reform because they want to appeal to that brainwashed half of the country.
Any grass roots effort that makes any traction gets shot down by the establishment, usually by rileing up the brainwashed half.
We WANT the change. But even if we could get the brainwashed half to vote for it, the system is so rigged and broken even if we did vote it in they would veto it or change it in two years.

Ok I am an outlier here but honestly I kinda like stuff like that. I’m not gonna pretend it’s worth a million dollars (like they would be cool with you selling it anyway) but real China is actually really pretty and sturdy if you take care of it and has a lot of neat little pieces of history and stories related to it. I like antiques and the look of old stuff.
However
My mom once tried to give us old pilsner glasses, and the story was “Grandpa bought them and didn’t like them so they’ve been in this cupboard since then”, and then got really disappointed when I was seeing if a friend of mine wanted one since he’s a real beer guy who might like fancy glasses.
So yeah if you already have plates, and your family history isn’t as great or interesting to you, don’t feel obligated to keep stuff you don’t like. Donate it (to anything other than goodwill or salvation army) or whatever.
Well, considering you have no friends, as someone who does and a lot of them are LGBT, no boomer, they are afraid as fuck.
