  • I followed Abramson from 2016 for 3+ years and I was disillusioned because as time went on, his narrative didn’t line up with reality. Yes Trump was and is a horrible piece of shit and much came out to confirm how much a piece of shit he was, e.g. Muller report, rape, fraud trials. But nothing like Abramson was saying. I believe that is because he was treating every rumor as fact and then expounding / extrapolating on it to heap another rumor (as fact) on top. Nobody should be doing this let alone a scholar who should know better - veracity matters.

And to repeat - I truly hope Musk is having a miserable shitty life. I really hope he goes nuts and checks into a funny farm or uses razor blades to test if he is living in a simulation as he has wondered occasionally. I just don’t trust his “biographer” when he claims anything given his past record on such things.

  • I hadn’t checked all models but I knew that in the model Y there is a rubber mat in the door bin, that you remove, and under that is a hatch and under that is something you can pull. I had a look at the model X manual and it does seem to be under a panel by the speaker. So either way it is basically impossible for rear occupants (or front occupants who retreat to the back) to open those doors in an emergency.

The simple answer would be to put manual releases front, back and on the hatch. I assume that when a Tesla crashes it isolates the power, so it would also be necessary for things like door locks to automatically disengage, or be disengaged by the manual release otherwise that’s no good either.

  • Tesla car doors have manual releases in the front doors but not in the rear doors. Or rather, there are manual releases in the rear doors but they are hidden under a hatch under the rubber matting in the door bins so effectively nobody is going to find them in an emergency. So if your car is on fire and you’re injured or panicking & you’re unaware about the manual release then you’re going to die. Now to be fair, the front manual release in the Tesla model 3/Y is fairly discoverable (it’s a handle above the electric windows) but it’s not so obvious in older models. The Cybertruck has similar manual releases as the 3/Y but with toughened glass I wonder how long before we see someone drown or burn to death and bystanders were unable to rescue them.

  • I live in Ireland and I like McDonalds occasionally. But there is no doubt that there food is quite expensive and they aren’t innovating. Once a month there will be some new burger which is usually just the same as a normal burger but with bacon or bbq sauce or some shit but it’s just boring and lazy marketing. What is worse than the food is the entire ordering experience - those bullshit kiosks are very time consuming and aggravating to use and then because they’re cutting staff you can look forward to a 5 or 10 minute wait for food to appear. I remember when I worked in McDs at peak periods you’d get your food almost as soon as you ordered it (unless it was a grill item) but not any more.
