Sure, but we can’t ever stop talking about it either. We need more, too. But we need to keep making people aware. Keep it in the news, keep it in public discourse.

They already do. CARB. California Air Resource Board.
A lot of auto makers already use carb standards because it’s such a huge state. It has its own issues like certain aftermarket parts need to be CARB approved such as intakes for whatever reason.
File an injunction. Put up every legal barrier to prevent this asshat from having an audience.
One article I read said that the representative race was much closer. It might not affect the president, but could affect other positions.
Families wouldn’t include the commercial buildings.
They could split the number and say residences and businesses separately. Or combine them and say customers. Especially since that number likely is reported by the power company itself and the company will use customer and everyone else will just be quoting them.
There was an article just days or a week ago about prisoners who were stuck in cells that were flooded and toilets that didn’t work and backed up into their cells for days following Helene.
So just casually passing on the conspiracy that Biden isn’t actually acting as president? That someone is playing him like a puppet?
One side is calling for literal fascist ideologies and polices. Imprisoning, deporting, and killing whomever they declare are undesirable.
The other is calling for abortion rights, trans rights, gay rights. Actively working to make life better for all Americans, and not just themselves.
There is always going to be “higher priority” to spend that money on. But they got it for this so let them just use it to make kids happy and not try and say that it’s not the “useful things” to spend it on.
Honestly, I think our regulations have gone a little too far. Requiring backup cameras and automatic braking systems sounds like a good idea, but now we can’t have a bare bones car.
Prices are up because there are so much additional shit they need to include. Personally, for a lot of my driving, all I want is a geo metro or similar shit box.
I mean, if I buy a two-seater convertible (if I can even find a new one) why does it need a backup camera? There isn’t even a back window!
We have regulations because, spoiler, things used to be unregulated and they fucked up enough people demanded the government set some fucking rules.
The regulations weren’t in the founding documents of the country. They came to be as the industries started exploiting and killing people.
Not just that, they is an underlying racist bias to that. That Asian made products from overseas are cheap because they care less or have less pride in their work than American made. They think that we as Americans for some reason have a greater baseline pride that permeates through everything made here.
Not everyone who goes is rich. And yes, they like making people happy regardless of the audiences social status. Many are simply entertainers and they like putting a show on.
Why make fun of people who are trying to bring a little joy to the world?
As a former Disney cast member, I wholly support this protest and I truly hope they strike.
In worked from 2008-2016 and started at $9.05/hr. We got 2% a year in raises, but in that time new hires would start at higher wages and they wouldn’t match the employees who had been there to the new employees wage. Brand new employees would make more than those that had been there years.
When Anaheim had a ballet measure to raise the minimum wage they raised a ton of cast members wages to $3 less than the measure in hopes they could discourage people to vote for it. Fortunately, the measure passed. However, during this period they didn’t retain the yearly raises, everyone was raised to the exact same wage. Those who had been there 30 years (no exaggeration) made exactly the same as new hires.
They’ve gotten hostile to their employees and the “perks” that employees for have been slowly stripped away. Each year getting slightly worse. Which is a problem because new hires don’t know how much better it used to be so they don’t know what to demand anymore.
I knew cast members that used to live 6 or 8 people to a two bedroom apartment. Most worked multiple jobs. Many of the entertainers who play as the characters ended up injured from wearing the Mickey and other character costumes. Multiple who had to have surgery to treat those injuries.
They have let standards fall, hard. The parks aren’t what they used to be and literally the only thing keeping them together is the cast. They try so fucking hard to bring the magic to guests each and every day. They have been kneecapped by management though. IMO, of all “attractions” at the parks, the cast are the best. And the one that management should be investing in the most. They are the differentiator between Disney and Knott’s Berry Farm, Universal Studios, and Six Flags. However leadership has constantly worked to move interactions from Cast Members to their half baked app.
Understand that all these cast members do it because they love bringing the magic to the guests. They endure shitty pay, shitty management, and injury for the guests. They care so much about making the public and tourists happy. They deserve so much more.
Can you imagine being the inspector who missed this?
Reading a few articles. It sounds like this was inspected and passed before people got into the pool.
While there are significant regulations around intake pipes, including grates and/or having multiple intakes so that no single one can be completely obstructed to create a suction scenario where someone can be trapped, this particular pipe was found to be plumbed on the wrong side of the pump. It was sucking in water when it was supposed to be ejecting water.
This is serious for the hotel chain, franchisee, installer/contractor, and inspector. This had to fail so many checks to have occurred. It wasn’t a chance occurrence for someone to be sucked in and seriously harmed or killed with the way this was plumbed; it was a matter of time when someone was going to be seriously injured or killed.
Truly a tragedy, and I cannot for the life of me imagine the pain that family is going through right now.
There’s no way we’re hiring a white man for this role. They’d be very careful how they’d message that to agents.
Furthering that, they use the word agent. Specifically referring actors.
Fallacy is a fault in logic, not a falsehood.
Post hoc ergo propter hoc (after it therefore because of it) is a fallacy. Or an appeal to authority is a fallacy.
Refrigerated or frozen items can’t be restocked, there’s no real way to tell how long they’ve been out of refridgeration. Hit em in the pocket books.
“maga are complaining DOGE engineered got fixed.”
Jesus fucking Christ, it’s the federal government. The public sector. We are fucking ENTITLED to know who runs our government.
