I can’t believe I’m saying this but I really hope the fact that there are too many firearms in this country to ever confiscate and that he is much much stupider than Putin is will prevent him from succeeding. I straight don’t buy that these results accurately reflect the opinion of non boomer voters. If this is accurate then the country and the species are done for, we cannot continue on the path we’re currently on without radical change to the status quo whether thats what people want or not. This is make or break for the future and it looks like we’re all currently content to let it break even if it means the end.

While I personally think this was organized too quickly to really be effective, it does give me hope that we might get some semblance of resistance. I’ve been dreading the possibility a second American civil war for more than a decade, since the early days of the tea party, ironically I find myself hoping for one as one of the more preferable outcomes at this point. It would still be horrible but better than the playground for the rich we’re looking down the barrel of right now

I was at one yesterday and while you’re 100% right, I’m hoping that what we’re doing right now is building a head of steam, the US has never really protested on this scale before and getting everyone out is gonna take time to organize. Next one is set for the 19th. If we get a bigger turn out then and keep it up that’s how we generate the momentum for daily protests and general strikes going. It’s not enough at all but I was encouraged by the turn out I saw versus other rallies this year
