Seriously, my first thought was “which of the numerous probes?” Haven’t we “known” this for decades now?

Sounds like a lot of people in Florida are about to become homeless too… I dunno, I say they completely, 100% enforce the laws right now. You didn’t fight against this bullshit because it “doesn’t affect me”? Well now it can affect you. Ticket everyone. Waste everyone’s time. It was so important to do this, then fucking do it. Be the fucking clowns you are. Ticket people who lost their home, who are camping in their front yard. What, they’re having a bad time right now and we should be generous? That’s homeless people all the time.
Suspending the law because it’s a weather emergency is bullshit. It’s being suspended because it might affect voters. Just trying to cover their own ass when they need it and shafting anyone else when it’s convenient.
The reason you see all the pop ups for cookies nowadays is because of GDPR, a European law. It absolutely does work like this. It’s vastly cheaper to run one system then 2 systems. It’s the same reason California emissions laws become defacto laws for the rest of the country.
I don’t know why people are downvoting you. At the very least, it seems like they didn’t even check on the land for years. Notice it’s a 2017 photo and a 2024 one. No progress pics in the middle, no “we told them to stop on X and Y date and here’s photos of them continuing”.
They abandoned the property for years because all they cared about was squatting on the wall being built, which by having the deed they were doing. They didn’t do anything further because that was never their goal.
So honestly, while what Elon did is shitty and illegal, them trying to claim the some moral high ground by acting like it was an environmental sanctuary is disingenuous. In fairness, the original purpose of stopping the wall from being built is STILL being upheld. Elon’s not building the wall there as far as I can tell. Just storing junk(that CAD should just scrap and sell since it’s abandoned on their lot). Heavy machinery is worth a lot…
And how often do we see loaded language regardless. I’m praising them for being neutral when often times the media isn’t. Especially with a topic like 9/11
Convenient that’s it’s occuring right before the anniversary as well.
I like how the AP story says he’s “accused” and “has agreed to plea”. Pretty passive wording instead of “person who committed”, etc. I don’t think they fully believe it either.
While I get the desire for outrage and backlash, a generous reading of what he said would be something like “In the past, making music meant needing access to numerous instruments and equipment. Today, you can create the same kind of music with a cheap PC and some programs.”
He’s not attacking creativity or saying your time isn’t valuable. He’s saying the barrier to entry has dropped dramatically to the point that almost anyone that wants to create content, can.
Look at any medium and notice the wide array of tools now available to the average person. You can do Photoshop and video effects using entirely free programs for the most part. Or paying a fraction of what you’d have paid in the past for less features.
Under that reading, he’s absolutely correct.
But yeah, Spotify sucks, I get that. They don’t pay creators fairly. Absolutely. Don’t disagree with that.
Except there is no mystery as to the deaths part. Investigations take a lot of time when there are a lot of questions. The only question here is “why did the boat plow straight into the bridge?”. There’s very little question how/why the bridge collapsed(it got hit directly by a massive cargo ship). No one’s going to question the physics of it. The only question will be “was it captain error or ship error so we know who to fine”. Recovering the ship will be part of answering that and the rest will be communication and maintenance logs.
It applies to only certain jobs. There’s some variance in CAs minimum wage depending on if you’re a tipped server, fast food worker, or something else.
So if they test positive for drugs, that means you’ll set them up with support programs, right? Treat the underlying issue, correct? Not just write them off and let the problem grow even more… right???
It’s really cool that after being told by a bunch of different people that the joke has been beaten to death, those of you with zero creativity have continued the trend, making it really easy to block those with only one brain cell.
Thank you for your service.
I always love how it’s the people advocating for an unregulated shit show calling everyone else facists if we won’t let you destroy something that others enjoy.
Bean posting was just a decades old rehash of a trend. It’s really not much better.
At least with Stroganoff, it had a funny origin(Google Opinion Survey asking if you want “important updates about Beef Stroganoff”).
Most of these are just “hrrr drrr this is dumb so let’s trend it”.
Someone’s jealous
Then maybe, crazy idea, we should stop trying to grow crops in areas where it’s not adapted for it, instead of insisting that we import water in from other states to meet our needs while we grow non essential crops. We’re walking around with a hammer seeing every problem as a nail. Crops aren’t needed everywhere. Especially when they’re non food/textile producing ones that are literally used to just get drunk.
We shouldn’t be growing non essential crops in areas where the PEOPLE don’t have enough water. It’s really that simple. When there’s not enough water for PEOPLE, growing agave to make alcohol that is a dehydrator is ridiculous. It’s entirely non essential and even if it’s “less than growing alfalfa”, it’s still “more than is needed”.
Maybe we should stop trying to grow crops for cash in a desert. That’s capitalism trying to squeeze value from everything. There is no need for this. It’s purely to make money.
And what do you do for a living? Because I’m sure the question is just as stupidly pointless when directed at you. Your point?
This isn’t environmentalism, it’s just shitty capitalism. “We can’t grow these crops for profit anymore, so what other crop can we grow for profit?”. Do we need more alcohol or do we need sustinece crops? Growing something just to grow something isn’t the solution. Unless we want a repeat of “every other crop is corn because it pays the best but now we have more corn than ever needed”.
Just a crazy idea, but just throw a strawberry 🍓 on the package near the flavor name. Boom, solved!
I’m sorry, but “how do you convey a food is strawberry flavored?” is a terrible excuse. Pictures and words like we’ve done for all recorded history. The idea that X taste has to be Y color is an unnecessary human invention. You should be driven more by the content of your food, than how “pretty” it is. Dressing up junk to make it palatable shouldn’t be the end goal.
So all the progressive businesses that hire these kinds of people will close and lose revenue while the non-progressive businesses, the ones you really want to hurt, will stay open and collect the revenue they’d normally collect along with a bonus from customers they bring over. Also remember that it’s the lower income people who have less choices about when and where to shop. Close the only store they shop at on the only day they have time to do groceries and you’re hurting them way more than the more privileged person who can just go another day or travel further.
This feels way more like cutting off your nose to spite your face
