But compelling research by Erica Chenoweth, a political scientist at Harvard University, confirms that civil disobedience is not only the moral choice; it is also the most powerful way of shaping world politics – by a long way.

But stop trying to discourage the people who are actually trying to find practical ways of dealing with our current reality, actually taking steps commensurate with that and building a resistance movement, which includes protesting.

It’s still very important to take a stand and speak out. Even if that in itself is not enough, it’s still necessary. Putting out this statement doesn’t mean that’s the only thing they’re doing. When fighting for a cause you have to state your principles, call out the problems you see, and motivate others to join you in the cause.
