It seems like soon enough, we will all just be blocking everything except contacts from messages and calls. It is absolutely ridiculous how much spam and fraud is sent, and how easily our data is mined and sold.

I love that this article pops up in between others like “US votes for Project 2025 and civil war” and “Man with brain worms who eats roadkill set to run all health agencies”.

I wish we could have viable third parties, but without some kind of ranked choice voting they will only remain spoilers. Which leads people to wonder why Stein remains at the top of a party that doesn’t perform well, and actually serves to reduce votes for things they claim to care about. Democrats are a coalition of all kinds, and if enough people would bother to vote in primaries the quality control would only improve.

In a free and fair election, with a moderately intelligent electorate, they would be crushed…

I also think the root is pain, misery, trauma. They choose to hide it, but most importantly blame it on everyone but themselves. They choose the cult to be surrounded by enablers. No need for them to face the truth anymore.

I didn’t realize Nate Silver left 538 (he’s over at Silver Bulletin now.) Not sure how credible they are anymore, after Disney/ABC gutted the team, and he left with the magic sauce algorithms. They were the one place I semi-trusted for polling, most accurate I’ve come across (since 2012 or so).
