I’m not from a rural area so I can’t speak from experience but I would imagine legal hunting is allowed and those that engage in it use a gun and then actually consume the things that they hunt. Different enviornments create different social norms. What they eat from hunting is probably healthier than what we buy in a store. Though the thought of hunting turns my stomach. I’ve never done it. I would never even hit an animal with my car let alone shoot one. Rather break and allow them to cross the road.
