Maybe we should be seeing the realities of the world, even the horrors. It’s a lot easier to support things like war if you’ve never witnessed the brutality. This person was making a political statement by setting themself on fire. I imagine they wanted people to see.
Sure, but OP didn’t tag it as NSFW, its against serverwide rules, and the video autoplayed. Nobody should be forced to watch someone burn to death without warning, especially on a site that doesn’t allow it. “We are not a free speech zone”, is literally the first principle of Mastodon.world/Lemmy.world
