  • Not a huge Trudeau fan, but I’d vote for him over SkiPPy every day of the week.

JT’s main failings IMHO is that despite all the good he did (national pharmacare, dental care, and 10$ a day child care) did not get any media attention, and provinces run by conservative premiers tried to suppress the programs as much as possible.

He passed the buck on housing for too long, letting Conservative provinces stoke the flames and blame him - and nobody seems to realize housing and healthcare are largely provincial matters. There was plenty JT could have done to expose this, or remedy how federal housing funding is allocated.

He let our grocery monopoly dictate price with no consequences for Greed based inflation.

Completely sold out workers with a “flood the streets” immigration policy. These new people receive significantly more government assistance than “real Canadians” which rightly pissed everyone off. - FWIW, the Conservatives will absolutely bring even more in, but Fuck Trudeau amirite

Homelessness is at all time highs and so are shelter costs, meaning eating in a shelter you rent/own basically makes you the 1% even though you can’t afford anything.

He completely lied about election reform, one of the main mandates he had when originally elected.

The core of his failing is spending tons of money, but very little of it going to the people who need it while everyone became poorer due to inflation. He wasn’t nearly as “left wing” where it counted as he thinks, and we basically got Neoliberalism with a rainbow flag on top.

(totally support LGBTQ, but not wanting to do gay/trans people harm while actively selling out Canada to corporate interests isn’t “left” at all.)

Instead, we’re going to vote in SkiPPy, who is a capitalist laptog - to save us from crushing capitalism. Because as a nation we have strong voter apathy and no civic comprehension.

Also a huge majority of Canadian media is owned by billionaires with right wing agendas, so they shat on JT consistently for 10 years and the public is listening to them mainly because life is objectively worse for the middle class since Covid inflation made housing and food unaffordable for future generations while wages were actively suppressed by JT himself.

The people who own homes and like their equity explosion still hate Trudeau, but also continue to want their home values to explode but are somehow pissed properties they do not own are also expensive.

And let’s not forget crime. We have almost 0 laws in Canada unless you are homeless (protected from consequences for everything bad you do) - or you try to defend yourself/your property (literally the most evil thing you can do.)

Rapists and violent assault cases routinely are released, or don’t get speedy trials and there are 0 consequences to their abhorrent crimes (lots of provincial issues here, but again, everyone loves to blame Trudeau)

Oh, and his gun ban is completely assanine and does nothing to stop the obvious illegal gunflow from the US that are used in nearly every crime with a gun. Complete tone def waste of money that makes him the easiest conservative target. Maybe 5% of Canadians think it’s actually going to do anything.

  • To be fair, if everything in the system leading up to the school is lead free there should be minimal leeching only happening in the school pipes.

If the pipes in the school have any sediment buildup sequestering the lead from the water there would be little to no leeching.

Definitely looks bad when you say “keep lead pipes in schools” but the reality is still something like “95% of lead removed from water coming out of school taps”

Also, might make schools likely to remove lead pipes if the system is lead free. No point in removing lead pipes from a school if there’s +20 miles of lead pipe leading to/from the school

  • They’ll just import people in from around the world to replace lagging birthrate.

Overall birthrate is expected to peak around 2080 so there’s still plenty of time to shuffle people around!

In Canada we used to have a serious immigration policy that was part of the Canadian identity, and now we’re literally flooding the country with people almost exclusively from 1-2 countries with no qualifications required.

The workforce collectively lost significant bargaining leverage as millions of desperate people continue to saturate job markets and suppress wages.

Plenty of jobsites have no oversight regarding certification, so even educated people lose out because it’s cheaper to train a desperate person on the job and pay them next to nothing/under the table instead of hiring an educated workforce with labor rights and who expect a wage that reflects their abilities.

For what it’s worth, I know plenty of educated people who are awful at their jobs too. This isn’t anti-immigration, it’s acknowledgement that immigration is being used to suppress everyone’s wages to the exclusive benefit of employers.

So even if all the Western countries get border walls with 100% coverage and catch rates, western governments everywhere will happily throw open the gates for cheap labour regardless of public opinion

  • While I agree with you on how ridiculous everything this person does and believes in, I am not sure how I feel about the “entrapment” part

While I don’t know the specifics of the entrapment, anyone getting entrapped by pedophile bait should be exposed.

It’s absolutely ridiculous to believe pedophiles only exist in one political camp, especially with mountains of evidence showing anyone with wealth, power, influence, and status (politicians, police, religious leaders, authority figures) are more likely to be pedophiles. It seems that politically, more Republicans than Democrats are convicted pedophiles, but it’s certainly not one or the other.

“Hunting pedophiles” rings hollow when you truly believe that anyone who likes the letter R cannot be a pedophile.

  • Paying workers more is inflationary, but raising the cost of goods because you control the supply chain is “business”

Basically, raising product costs to cover increased labour costs are bad because actual workers are getting that money instead of the wealthy capital class.

I wish people understood boycotting more. Sure 6 companies own everything, but remember when the cost of a barrel of oil went significantly negative because people weren’t driving for 2 weeks?

If people collectively decided they didn’t want to buy anything but the absolute necessary staples for a few months there would be an absolute catastrophe in the supply chain and they’d be forced to lower prices significantly.

They may not lower prices forever, but modern business is built entirely on supply chain logistics. If people stop buying anything, or buy things exclusively to return them we would see some serious changes
