What the U.S. Is Really Doing in South America/the Middle East/South East Asia: Suppressing democracy and extracting resources at the expense of its people

There, that is more accurate I think.

Yea, what did the press expect to happen, there’s a reason little Marco gets called the viceroy of Venezuela.

Exxon etc. get to be the 21st century east India company. Latin America should be arming and uniting right now, Trump and the USA can pick each country off individually but not if they act together.

Venezuelans were repeatedly told they were trading one dictator for another with Trump by literally every other Latin American that isn’t a right wing dickwad, and their response was to tell every other Latin American to shut up because “they don’t know what it’s like” (never mind the fact that nearly every Latin American country had to survive through US backed dictatorships) or that they knew they were going to take the oil but that it was a step in the right direction 🙄.

Venezuelan online discourse now loves to shit on Delcy’s puppet government while conveniently forgetting to mention who keeps it propped up.

Instead apparently they look at the far reich shit shows around the world and have decided “yes please, I’ll have some of that too.”

All you need to understand it is to look at a map of where the most oil is known to be found

Dismissing it because it is normal is the wrong reaction. Our sense of rage at injustice needs to accumulate into meaningful action in order for anything to improve.

What I think they’re getting at is that this is and always has been what the US does, but they are usually very insistent that it’s ‘DELIVERING FREEDOM’ or some other spiel.

Growing up is realising the bluff and then getting mad at how long we’ve been tricked.

Disillusionment is real. Personally been a pretty pretty depressing journey, I wasn’t even that “tricked” by the whole thing to begin with. But the last 20 years have been just outside of reality. Obama was a great orator and led with a calm poise, but our global policy was still unrelenting.

That article is way to long and meandering. I don’t have an hour to spend reading a single news article
