“They have taken immediate action to resolve this matter and are contacting impacted guests to ensure they are accommodated,” Hilton’s spokesperson said. “Hilton’s position is clear: Our properties are open to everyone and we do not tolerate any form of discrimination.”

A physical manifestation of the Paradox of Tolerance. I wonder how many staff members of that hotel decided to quit suddenly.

This makes me wonder how much money a day our taxes are paying in hotel rooms for people who we have already paid for their offices/bases for them. Seems like a giant waste of money for areas that don’t want them there.

I suspect that front office manager may have fucked up. Seems like a big decision that should be sent out through the gm or marketing.

We do not discriminate against any individuals or agencies

Really??? I mean depending on your definition of “agency”, that might be a bad call.

Would you offer rooms to isis? What about illegal organizations in general? What about when you’re unsure, but suspect that an organization may be illegal?

Well I mean, it’s relevant. Especially if your policy was to disallow possibly illegal activities, it’s not hard to make an argument that ICE engages in kidnapping and murder.
